Kerry Forsythe, Coordinator of Family Ministry
Kerry Forsythe is the Coordinator of Family Ministry at Grace. She graduated with a degree in Nursing and has worked in various roles, primarily as a Community Health Educator and Program Manager. Kerry’s strong Lutheran upbringing coupled with a sincere passion for developing faith communities, led her to develop the Young Families of Grace (YFG) as a church volunteer. The goal of this ministry was to provide a network of personal and spiritual support for parents who were raising young children.
Under Kerry’s direction, the Family Ministry Program has now grown to become quite vibrant. It includes the Teen Families of Grace (TFG), toGather – a young adult ministry, and the Splash Ministry – a mom and tot devotional playgroup. Given our fast-paced, stress-filled world, Kerry feels it is essential that individuals and families feel rooted in and supported by their church community. To that end, her goal is to create and support intuitive, quality programs that provide education, a sense of belonging, support and fun. Many Grace families come from mixed faith backgrounds. This is most welcome and supported in our community. Ultimately, providing spiritual support for each individual is the centerpiece for Family Ministry’s programming.
Family Ministry events include multiple educational offerings for parents, couples’ and ladies’ nights out, couples’ sports, church-sponsored family outings, Bible studies, book clubs, intergenerational events and family service opportunities. Family Ministry also works closely with the Grace Men’s Ministry and Older Adult Ministry. See the church calendar for a sampling of Family Ministry events.
