God’s Grace 2020 Vision Appeal

There are many ways for members to participate in the 2020 Vision. Some items in the Vision, such as "Community Outreach", will require participation in a monthly meeting over a one year period. A description of the Community Outreach process will take place at the 10 am Forum scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 19. All are invited to participate. To receive more information and decide whether this is something you would like to participate in, please come to the Forum on Feb. 19, or to the first meeting on March 12, at 7pm.

Other items in the Vision such as the Building Design Development and Fund Appeal will require active participation in the next couple of months.

Building Design Development Teams:

All Grace members interested in the design/plans of the building are encouraged to participate on a Building Design Development Team. It is especially important for volunteer leaders who use the building for their ministries to attend (e.g., LOGOS, Altar Guild, WELCA, etc.). Jaeger, Nickola and Associates (JNA), our building architectural firm, will take us through a process to develop and finalize design details during two meetings scheduled for March. Please note that we have already collected 13 pages of recommendations from members and transmitted them to JNA as part of the design process.

Saturday, March 3: The focus will be on collecting additional input and gaining consensus on each area of the building design. The morning session (8:30 – 11:30) will address all areas of the building, except for the Sanctuary. Lunch will be served from 11:30 – 12:30. The afternoon session (12:30 –3:30) will focus on the Sanctuary. You may attend the morning and/or the afternoon sessions.

Saturday, March 17: JNA will present the drawings based on the designs developed at the March 3 meetings and fine-tune the designs if necessary. The teams will then develop a process to communicate the plans to the congregation so a vote can be taken on the final design. The morning session (8:30 – 11:30) will again focus on all areas of the building, except the Sanctuary. Lunch will be served from 11:30 – 12:30. The afternoon session (12:30 – 3:30) will again focus on the Sanctuary.

For the process to be effective, it is important for participants to attend both the March 3 and March 17 meetings. Child care will be provided for children up to age 6. If you have not already signed up to attend the building design meetings, we ask that you sign up in the Fellowship Hall by February 24.

2020 Vision Fund Appeal Teams’

Rev. David Misenheimer, our Fund Appeal consultant, was with us Sunday, Feb. 12, to both answer questions regarding the appeal and to train those who want to participate in making it happen. There is still time to join one of the teams leading the campaign. Please consider joining one of the campaign teams: Communications Team, Spiritual Life Team, Messenger Team, Leadership Gifts Team, Tell the Story Events Team, or the Young Disciples Team. The next meeting for these teams will be on February 29 at 7:00pm.
