Grace Lutheran Preschool
Welcome to Grace Lutheran Preschool. It is our purpose to provide a preschool setting where learning may take place in a Christian environment. This environment encourages imagination, exploration, creativity, and awareness of God’s world. We provide the children with tools and opportunities to develop their capabilities to the fullest at their own pace in a non-pressured, relaxed atmosphere. Since play is the child’s way of learning, much of this is accomplished through play with a purpose.
The curriculum is designed to stimulate developmental learning and joyful, creative play. Our program includes interest centers which follow a central theme. A strong emphasis is placed on social interaction, problem-solving, self-control, self-expression, and coordination. Through a warm and loving environment, we build a sense of security and positive self-esteem in each child. It is our hope that your child will be enriched by his/her experiences at Grace Lutheran Preschool.
Grace Lutheran Preschool, founded in 1968, is licensed by the State of Illinois and is fully insured.
Registration
Registration for the coming school year begins in January. Registration packets will be mailed the first week of January. All registration forms must be postmarked or dropped off in the preschool office by January 31. Registration for all three and four-year-old classes will be processed the first week in February by a random drawing in the following order:
• Grace Lutheran Church members
• Families currently enrolled in a program at GL Preschool
• Families previously enrolled at Grace Lutheran Preschool
• Families new to Grace Lutheran Preschool
No registration forms will be accepted for the random draw after the January 31 deadline. Registration must be accompanied by the $70.00 non-refundable registration fee, registration form and session preference sheet included in the January registration mailing. Please note that completing a registration form
does not guarantee admission to Grace Lutheran Preschool.
A confirmation of your registration will be mailed within two weeks of the processing date. Your check will be returned if your child is placed on a wait list. We will draw names until all applications have been processed. A wait list will be created in the order in which the names were drawn. We will do our best to place your child in the session of your choice.
If you would like to receive a registration packet or schedule an observation visit, please call the preschool office at 708-352-0730. Questions should be directed to Lynne Blatchley, Preschool Director. Top of page
