Work Camp is open to current high school students, incoming high school freshman in fall 2011, as well as college youth up to age 20. What is LOGOS?
Wednesdays, 5:00 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. Beginning Oct. 6, 2010
Today when all kinds of pressures are working to shape the minds and lives of our children and youth. We all have concerns for the spiritual and moral development of our children. A typical young person spends more time in one year studying math in school than they do in five years in Church School learning about the Christian faith?
The LOGOS weekly ministry gives us an opportunity to deal with this problem creatively. One day a week, twenty-four weeks during the school year, we can teach the word to our children and youth, and establish relationships and attitudes that are not possible through any other means.
Children and youth age 1 ½ through High School participate
in the LOGOS program at Grace. Musicgarten; music and movement for preschoolers, is integrated into the LOGOS schedule, as are the children's’ Cherub and Bell choirs.
Confirmation Studies for youth in grades 7 and 8 are part of the bible study and worship skill segments of LOGOS. Weekly sessions include periods for Bible Study, Worship Skills, Choir, Recreation, and a Family Style Dinner Hour.
Dozens of adult volunteers give their time, lead, play, teach, nurture and care for the youth who participate. In LOGOS, we celebrate positive relationships through the model of Jesus Christ. Everyone can be a part of LOGOS! Information and registration forms are on the nametag tables, in the church office, on the church web site or contact Kerry Forsythe, Family Ministry Coordinator, familyministry@gracelutheran-lg.org.
There will be no meetings on holidays.
