February 1: Anniversary Lecture Series Course 5 - Wednesdays, February 1, 8, 15 at 10:00 a.m. or Mondays, February 6, 13, 20 at 7:00.p.m. in Fellowship Hall.
“How Christians Ritualize Death and What it Says About Life”, Taught by Dr. Benjamin M. Stewart, Assistant Professor of Worship at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. This three-week course explores the theology of Christian funeral and burial practices, with a special interest in how these practices embody wisdom about life and death. February 5: Financial Peace University 2012 - Sundays, FPU is a 13 week video curriculum about family finance taught by financial expert Dave Ramsey. Classes begin on Sunday, February 5th at 1:00 p.m.. There is a membership fee of $100 which includes a lifetime membership and all material costs. February 6: College of DuPage Class - Mondays, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. It is time to sign up for the new COD class , "Maestros: New Greats", which will begin on Monday, February 6, and go until March 26. See and hear unique differences in musical style among the great conductors of world class orchestras. The cost for the class is $154, Seniors $114. The class is MUSIC- 0004-002. February 10 & 11: Men’s Ministry Retreat at LOMC - Friday, departing at 4:30 p.m.
to LOMC in Oregon IL. and returning Saturday around 8:00 p.m. Join us for a spiritual Men’s retreat lead by Pastor Moody. February 11: Preschool Open House - Saturday, 9:30 - 11:00 a.m.
February 14: OPUS Trip - Tuesday, leaving church at 10:00 a.m. What could be better than chocolate on Valentine’s Day? Join OPUS as we travel to the Long Grove Chocolate Factory for a tour of the facility and chocolate to taste and to buy. We will have lunch at the Buffalo Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlor. All this and a bus ride too for $50. Sign up today at the OPUS information center.
February 25: A Lenten Spiritual Retreat - Saturday, 8:30 - noon, Grace Lutheran. Begin Your Lenten Journey with Prayer and Meditation, you are invited to renew and refresh your spirit as you begin your Lenten journey. This retreat held at Grace will provide a blessed opportunity to walk with Jesus and continue to discover where he is leading you. February 26: YFG & TFG Family Service Event - Sunday, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. for
you and your children (ages 8 and up). Support food pantries in our local community by signing up for the Grace Empty Bowls Community Service Event. Grace families will create bowls at The Village Potters at 333 N. La Grange Rd. Return again to the Village Potters for the culmination of The La Grange-area Empty Bowl Project from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Purchase the bowl(s) you’ve made, and fill with tasty food provided by local restaurants. Extend Grace’s mission in this community and fight hunger.

March 4: TFG Parent-Teen Movie Night "Haze" - Sunday, Pizza at 5:00 p.m. , Movie at 5:30, dessert and discussion to follow. “Haze” elucidates the issue of teen/college binge drinking. The film's goal is simple: to save lives and prevent harm. “Haze” does contain graphic images of the sequela of irresponsible alcohol use, but

March 11: Parents, Kids and Money - Sunday, 6:00 - 7:15 p.m. Family Ministry and Thrivent Financial (formerly Aid Association for Lutherans) present a workshop to teach children ages 6-10 how to be good stewards of money. Parents and kids break-out into 2 groups to reflect on money and values in our consumer-driven culture, then rejoin for dessert and discussion. Free guides, tools and resources. Program is free with optional donation.
